Journal Time!

Since I started my journal I’ve gotten a lot of questions on how to get inspired, what to use, and how to journal the “right” way and in this post, you’ll know all the secrets!
Journaling is very therapeutic and a great way to stay creative so I hope you will all try it out and I can’t wait to see your amazing projects! :)
What to use:
Some type of journal! A notebook, sketch book, random pages strung together, spiral, bound, whatever you want and are comfortable with. Your journal is about you and what you like! If you want to make it more of a sketch book or with using pen or markers I’d suggest thicker pages so it doesn’t bleed through! Personally, I use a pen, a sharpie pen, double sided tape, water color pencils, a brush, and my brain!
How to get inspired:
Look at tumblr, the world around you, music, family, friends, experiences, memories, literally anything. I pull inspiration from photos I see around tumblr and stashed on my computer. Also from random things I think about (mainly while trying to fall asleep which is impossible to do). Don’t filter your thoughts and let your mind wander! Make your journal an extension of you and your creativity! I promise anything you do will be amazing!

What to write about:
After pulling from your inspiration, gather your thoughts and just let it explode on the page. Sometimes I have trouble thinking of what to write, so I pull text posts from tumblr that just say the right thing of how I’m feeling. If you’re a natural writer and can let your thoughts flow pages on pages, that’s amazing! Of course, your journal is all about you, so write and feel how ever you want!
Bottom Line:
Don’t be afraid to express your unique self and make your journal you! As I said, anything you do will be amazing and don’t be afraid to cover pages with anything you want or “wasting” pages or if something is “right”. You can have plenty of journals and anything you feel is just right.
Lastly, if you need some jams to get inspiration flowing, you can check out my journal inspired playlists here!
Stay Positive and Journal On!

  1. Your journal is majorly inspirational! I wish mine was as collage-y but the pages in mine are a little thin for that, so I keep up the creativeness with small doodles and different colored pens :)
